The Art On Ayers Project

Utilizing the Power of Art to

Revitalize Ayers Street

Support to the cause

“I’ve seen art transform communities all over the country and now I want to use that energy to help lower income communities in my city.”

~Jeremy Flores, Mural Artist

Overview

Corpus Christi is growing in so many ways and there is no doubt that in the next 5 years it will be one of the hottest destinations in Texas.

Corpus Christi is Growing

The city is developing at a pace never seen before bringing in awesome art themed events.

Some Areas Get Neglected

While most growth is focused on the downtown area some of our lower income communities don’t get as much attention.

City Based Partnerships

We have experience throwing art themed events. Most recently we partnered with the DMD to throw the Corpus Christi Mural Fest.

Community Support

Our main goal is to use the power of art to uplift our underserved communities while also providing support to them in a very real way.

Community Revitalization

Our community focused events such as our Back To School Backpack Giveaway focus on providing assitance to families in the area.

Working Together

By working together with other key stakeholders in the community we can work to Make Ayers Great Again.

Inspired By Miami Art

Drawing inspiration from our trips to Miami Art Basel we learned about the historic area of Wynwood. Wynwood began as a run down part of the city but a developer with an artistic vision hired artists to install breath-taking murals in the area. Those murals helped bring new energy and opportunities and now Wynwood Walls is a historic part of the National art scene.

We hope to bring that same vision to life in Corpus Christi.

The Plan

The overall goal is to help bring a positive energy to this area while helping out the community in a very real way. We are going to spear head creative events that will help bring more vibrancy to the area.

Back To School Backpack Giveaway (August 2022)
We want to start our Art on Ayers project by giving back to the community and that all starts by supporting the families.

Art On Ayers Paint Jam (January 2023)
This event is to “Clean up the Corner” and bring the first new murals to the area starting with the Times Market.

Completed January 13th – 15th 2023. 15 murals installed from Artists from over 5 coutries in 3 days.

Lets Redo The Ayers Sign (DATE TBD)
The Ayers St sign is an iconic symbol of the Ayers area and it needs to be brought back to life.
